Monte Carlo's powerful monitoring capabilities now seamlessly integrate with Select Star's intelligent metadata platform, providing users with a holistic view of their data assets. With this integration, Select Star users can understand table data quality at a glance, and access Monte Carlo's monitor information directly on table pages, providing a comprehensive view of data assets. Users can easily see the status of monitors and any current alerts, providing immediate context about data health. This visibility helps spread awareness of data observability across teams and guides decisions on data usage.
Leveraging Monte Carlo's four monitor types for data observability, users can now gain deeper visibility into their data workflows within Select Star. Pipeline Observability monitors learn normal patterns of updates, size changes, and growth for any given table, alerting you to potential breakages or stoppages in data flow. Metrics monitors track the statistical profile of data fields, helping you catch outliers and unexpected changes. Validations allow for custom checks on specific data qualities, while Performance Observability keeps an eye on query runtimes to maintain reliable pipelines and control costs.
Setting up the integration is straightforward. Admins can generate an Account Service Key in Monte Carlo and configure the connection in Select Star's settings. Once connected, it takes just a few minutes for monitor information to populate, giving you instant insights into your data's observability status.
